fic quotes from earl of rothinghamtonshire [01 Jan 2006|05:40pm]

[ mood | amused ]

"Look, Nick," Howie said, "the point of this whole meeting was not to tell you what we didn't like about your book --"
"It wasn't?" Kevin said.
"You all thought we were having a meeting to talk about what we didn't like in Nick's book?"
"I didn't know," Brian said. "I just go where I'm told."
AJ said, "I thought there was going to be food."

"Can't I just stay in my room?" Nick said. "And Justin can stay in his, and everybody will be much happier."
"Maybe you'll have fun," Kevin said. "You two might even become friends."
"Have you met Justin?" Nick said.

He peered at himself in the mirror. "Does this shirt make me look guardian evil or sexy evil?"

"Hey, it's better than any of the books I've written, right? I mean, I haven't written any, but still. And it was a fun read -- lots of monkeys, and you know what I always say, nothing says good literature like a bunch of monkeys. Shakespeare could have used more monkeys, I always thought."

"You know that doesn't mean real monkeys," Howie said. "It's slang for --"

"I stopped being interested when you said no real monkeys," Chris said. "I'm disappointed. I kind of liked being Chris, Earl of Rothinghamtonfordshire, Lover of Monkeys."

"Why, Howard D," Chris said, "you sound as if you think I'm untrustworthy around impressionable youth."

"That's because that's exactly what I think."

"Why, I think I'm offended. Do you know what I do when someone calls me untrustworthy?"

"You act really upright and righteous so that you regain their trust?"

"Yeah, that would probably be the mature thing to do," Chris said. "Sadly, I'm very immature. What I do is, I think, hey, buddy, you think you've seen untrustworthy? And then I act very untrustworthy. Very untrustworthy indeed, as our friend the Earl of Rothinghamtonfordshire might say. Very untrustworthy indeed."

Britney on Broadway?

The magazine quizzes the so-called "American Husband: Trophy Edition" on his domestic duties, including whether there's a particular "household task" at which he excels.

Offers Kevin, "Pressing the TV buttons. Yeah, dude. That's like the No. 1 thing."

Lyrics [04 Nov 2005|08:48pm]

BSB: I Still (in honor of the new video! yay!)

Who are you now
Are you still the same
Or did you change somehow
What do you do
At this very moment
When I think of you

And when I'm looking back
How we were young and stupid
Do you remember that

No matter how I fight it, can't deny it
Just can't let you go

I still need you
I still care about you
Though everything's been said and done
I still feel you like I'm right beside you
But still no word from you

Now look at me
Instead of moving on
I refuse to see
That I keep coming back
Yeah, I'm stuck in a moment
That wasn't meant to last (to last)

I've tried to fight it, can't deny it
You don't even know that

I still need you
I still care about you
Though everything's been said and done
I still feel you like I'm right beside you
But still no word from you

No, no
I wish I could find you
Just like you found me, then I
Would never let you go

(need you, care about you)
Though everything's been said and done, yeah
I still feel you (I still feel you)
Like I'm right beside you (like I'm right here beside you)

But still no word from you

source: hecklerspray.com

It's turning into hecklerspray baby day, what with Gwynnie getting up the duff and Janet Jackson possibly hiding away her daughter for 18 years. But what about the most famous mother on the planet? Mother Nature? No, silly, we mean Britney Spears.

Britney got in a massive flap over the weekend over photos of her and her new baby Sean Preston that were allegedly stolen from a private photoshoot. All kinds of legal muscle was brought in to remove all trace of Sean Preston's image from the Internet. And now Britney's cavalry has arrived, in the high-pitched moonwalking form of Justin Timberlake.

This weekend, Britney Spears (CDs) got her legal representatives to send cease and desist letters to each individual website that dared show the stolen pictures of her with baby Sean Preston, threatening legal action to those who did not withdraw the images.

We managed to see one of the photos and we can report that - surprise, surprise - Sean Preston looks exactly like a baby. And babies are rubbish and boring anyway, so we can't really understand what all the flap is for.

But Britney obviously needed someone to back her up. Seeing as how Sean Preston's father Kevin Federline was probably too busy ramming $100 notes into a stripper's knickers on a golf course somewhere, it was left to Britney's ex, Justin Timberlake to step in and defend her. Speaking to Access Hollywood, he said:

"It's a little crazy. When a person like her, who's obviously a sweet person, is having their first child, it's like, 'leave the girl alone, let her have the baby!... I do think that's crossing the line. That's her baby and those are her baby pictures... At some point, you're going to know about her son and get to see a picture. These magazines work week-to-week, so I don't understand why people can't wait. Wait a week when she's comfortable putting it out, that's her family!"

"I like most of the places I've been to, but I've never really wanted to go to Japan, simply because I don't really like eating fish, and I know that's very popular out there in Africa, but the whole thing just doesn't appeal to me."

from mp3.com [08 Jul 2005|02:09am]

"There was a time when there were a lot of groups like us -- you had the Britneys, you had the 'N Syncs, us, 98 Degrees -- and the objective was to blow up as many things as you could onstage," says Brian Littrell. "But this tour, it's going to be about the music. The fans are going to see us five -- there won't be twenty-five dancers."

The five -- Littrell, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean and Nick Carter -- will perform ten songs off Never Gone, as well as their entire Chapter 1 greatest hits compilation.

That's not to say there'll be no frills. "We might have a little bit of pyro here and there," says Littrell.

"And we're going to break out the sequin blazers," Richardson jokes.
"We are grateful to his legal team, the court and district attorney. His required fulfillment of the alcohol program will not interfere with Backstreet Boy's current touring and promotions of the new album," said Carter's publicist, Juliette Harris, who is also quick to point out that "alcohol program" does not equal rehab.

The statement continues to say that "Carter regrets his mistake and looks forward to fulfilling his requirements and putting this incident behind him. As always he is thankful to his fans for standing by him and the Backstreet Boys."

Carter was slapped with the two misdemeanor charges after getting pulled over for erratic driving Mar. 5 in Huntington Beach and flubbing a field sobriety test.

At the time, his rep denied Carter was under the influence.

"Nick Carter deeply regrets the current situation. He is on doctor-prescribed medication and was unaware of its interaction possibilities," Harris said in March.

boy and his toys [07 Jul 2005|01:11pm]

[ mood | calm ]

"Every time a cell phone comes out that's got a new toy on it, I want it. I've got a Samsung deal. It's actually ringing right now. I don't want to answer it. I don't know [who's calling]. But yeah, I'm addicted to cell-phone technology. My MP3 player's in it now. You know my camera's in it, obviously, and I love it. I love messing with that stuff. I'm addicted to texting. That's probably why I'm bad at phone calls now. I skip the nonsense."

backstreet men? [04 Jul 2005|03:01pm]

[ mood | enraged ]

Pop sensations BACKSTREET BOYS refuse to change their name to BACKSTREET MEN - despite some of the band being in their 30s. Singer NICK CARTER protests that although their title may seem ironic now, no one expected bands such as the BEACH BOYS to ditch their youthful moniker.
He fumes, "Everybody keeps saying it, but the BEASTIE BOYS didn't change their name and neither did the Beach Boys."

BSB's meaning for Incomplete [23 Jun 2005|06:49pm]

[ mood | cheerful ]

INTERVIEWER: Let's talk about Incomplete because it could be interpreted in a thousand different ways, I guess, but I think it fits in nicely with your story in the sense that do you agree that if it's not the five of you, you do feel as though something's missing. Are you sort of each other's missing link?
HOWIE: We are. And our fans, our fans are our missing link. In the time that we had off-- (Nick puts his arm around Howie's neck and leans in) I know, I love you too Nick. (Howie puts his arm around Nick's neck too. Nick puckers up to kiss Howie's cheek theatrically. Howie pulls away, grinning)
HOWIE (slightly embarassed, but still grinning): Anyway.
AJ: Aw, I just had a sandwich...
INTERVIEWER (laughing): AJ's going to throw up.

BRIAN: Being a popstar, or a rock and roll star, is one thing that's a part of my life, but I would be my little boy's hero anyday over that.

a couple of fic quotes [17 Jun 2005|01:05am]

[ mood | amused ]

"You okay to drive?" It was like an invitation JC thought before wondering if maybe Lance really wanted to take him home, if maybe he wasn't starting to want this, too. Maybe that's why he decided to leave at the same time. Maybe if he said no and got into Lance's car he could put his hand on Lance's leg and Lance would know that JC loved him.

"Missed you," JC told him, resisting the urge to add a qualifier to it, 'terribly' or 'like part of me was gone' or 'so much that I almost called you every night.'

"It's not fair." The bartender looked up expectantly. "He's playing with my emotions. Like they were...the things…you play with…" Lance peered down at his glass, wondering when his arms had gotten so long.

"Toys," the bartender supplied.

"Yes. Those." By this time Lance had forgotten about the glass altogether, working himself up into a little flurry of indignation. He only remembered its presence as he was gesturing widely in emphasis, and poured gin over his shoes.

'N Sync in Teen People [16 Jun 2005|05:20pm]

[ mood | contemplative ]

LANCE: Could you imagine if we had a monkey around with us at all times?
CHRIS: We do. We call him Joey. We can take him around with us now that he doesn't poop in his pants.

JUSTIN: Don't tell anyone what you hear in this room.
CHRIS: Unless it helps me get a date. Then you can tell them anything.
JOEY: He likes burly men.

We'd leave Europe and you know, there'd be people on the tarmac--like sometimes 3, 4 hundred girls--and we'd fly on over [to the US] and it'd be like, chirp chirp, chirp chirp. We used to call it like, no fan land.

quotes from Blender [14 May 2005|09:40pm]

[ mood | nostalgic ]

"Denniz and Max Martin always spoke in Swedish so you couldn't understand a word they said. It was probably, 'These fucking American kids suck'."
-Nick Carter

"We always got on Nick for not sharing the Nintendo. He was quite selfish when he was 13."

"I was stressed out and sad. I cried a lot."

"Our gay videos? Well, we had to have a little bit of sex appeal, because we hadn't really made an impact in the US; everybody thought we were from London. Howie and AJ's shirts were water-soluable though."

"We became role models. That's a big fucking stress."

"When you become successful, you're not really a human being anymore. You're an object."
